Day 1 — Arrive in Oslo

Arrival in Oslo. Transfer to our hotel to check in and meet the group. We’ll enjoy a Welcome dinner this evening in the beautiful, green city of Oslo. Overnight Oslo.

Day 2 — Explore the countryside in Finse

After breakfast, we’ll take the morning train from Oslo to Finse. Upon arrival in Finse, we’ll check our luggage at the hotel, have lunch, and go for a short hike in the lovely countryside. After our hike, we’ll get settled at the hotel before enjoying a leisurely dinner together.

Day 3 — Glacier hike on Hardangerjøkulen

The day will begin with a healthy breakfast — we’ll need the energy when we visit Hardangerjøkulen, one of Norway’s biggest glaciers. We’ll pack a picnic lunch and set off to hike. Glaciers are beautiful and rough, and our highly skilled guides will assist us in equipping ourselves — with crampons, helmets, harnesses, ice axes, and rope — to ensure the safety of our group while glacier hiking.

Together, we’ll explore this spectacular landscape of snow (safely!) on the magical blue ice. On the hike — which will take around 2 hours, each way — you’ll be treated to panoramic views that will take your breath away. After our glorious hike, we’ll return to the hotel for rest, relaxation, and a delicious dinner.

Day 4 — Cycle the Navvies’ Road and travel along the Flam Railway

After breakfast, we’ll enjoy another local train from Finse to Hallingskeid. From there, we’ll bike approximately 20 miles to Flam. We’ll cycle on the traffic-free Navvies’ Road, which is Norway’s most famous cycling route. This spectacular mountain bike ride consists of sections with gravel, mountain biking terrain, and some paved areas.

We’ll have an up-close view of the wondrous landscape as we bike past the Hardangerjøkulen glacier, lakes, and waterfalls. As we continue to Flam, we’ll stop for a bite to eat and refuel our energy. We’ll enjoy our packed lunches and savor a moment of rest.

When we get to Flam, we’ll embark on one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world, along the famous Flam Railway. After a short transfer, our stop will be in Aurland — where our cozy guesthouse, warm dinner, and fjord views await.

Day 5 — Kayak on the Nærøyfjorden

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we’ll kayak on the magnificent Nærøyfjorden. We’ll meet our kayak guides and go through the basics (no experience necessary!). On our kayaks, we’ll glide through the unique landscape as we pass waterfalls and local wildlife. We may even spot some seals, eagles, otters, and porpoises along the way!

When we’re done kayaking, we’ll head back to the comfort of our guesthouse. Here, the Ohnstad-Stigen family has preserved traditions going as far back as the eighteenth century. The old buildings at Vangsgaarden have since been converted into hotel rooms, restaurants, and fisherman’s cabins. We’ll enjoy some leisure time at this idyllic fjord-side community and have our dinner.

Day 6 — Hike Mt. Prest

Today we’ll get to see the Aurlandsfjord from above! After breakfast, we’ll drive up the steep mountainside toward the majestic Mt. Prest. We’ll hike about 1,800 feet up, with a distance of less than 4 miles. We’ll take our time, enjoy lunch on the way, and take in the breathtaking views at the top. After our hike, we’ll drive towards Filefjell to check in to our mountain accommodations and enjoy a warm dinner.

Day 7 — Explore Jotunhelmen

After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll transfer to Jotunhelmen — a vast, largely undisturbed mountain area in Eastern Norway. The mountain range is Norway’s most popular national park, and it includes the country’s two highest mountains: Galdhøpiggen (8,100 ft. above sea level) and Glittertind (8,083 ft. above sea level).

The mountainous terrain features stunning waterfalls, rivers, lakes, glaciers, and valleys. Wonderful photo opportunities abound! We’ll take some time to explore this vibrant environment, have a delicious local lunch, and enjoy a short scenic hike in the afternoon. After the hike, we’ll head back to Filefjell to relax and enjoy the area before dinner.

Day 8: Travel back to Oslo for sightseeing

We’ll eat breakfast and then pack up and travel back towards Oslo on a 4-hour bus ride. This local experience provides opportunities for beautiful views, interaction with the locals, and perhaps a song or two! Once we’re back in Oslo, we’ll enjoy lunch and city sightseeing in this hidden gem of a capital city. We’ll check into our hotel and enjoy our Farewell Dinner.

Day 9: Travel back home

After breakfast, and as schedules allow, we’ll take the Airport Express back to the Oslo Airport — or stay and play on your own!
