Carla is Swiss and we met her when she was guiding a kayak trip on a river in New Zealand. We were so impressed with her inter-personal skills that we invited her to guide our Swiss Alps trip. Carla has been guiding around the world for eight plus years and her English is excellent. She is a passionate mountaineer and she climbed Denali in May 2009. Carla is a rafting, kayaking, and climbing guide and has also taught climbing, skiing and snow-boarding. She helped us tweak the schedule slightly to bring the local culture to the top and so that our customers enjoy the best experiences that her beautiful country offers. You’ll have fun with Carla –she’s a real “people” person.

Jesse lives in Boise, Idaho where she teaches violin/fiddle and mandolin to students of all ages, but luckily she takes time out to lead our trip in Idaho. She fell in love with the mountains and hot springs of the west at a very young age. A travel bug and a desire to explore the world took her all over the United States, Brazil and several trips through Europe. Jessie’s daughter Fern has already seen more of the mountains and hot springs of Idaho than some people who have lived in Boise their whole lives. Jessie’s passion for the mountains is contagious…you’ve been warned!

Hailing from the north of England originally, Jenny first arrived in New Zealand in 2007 and loved the outdoor lifestyle of the South island. The lure of the Southern Alps called to her and she has been calling Queenstown home for the last several years. Jenny lived in Ireland and completed an outdoor instructor training program and things really fell into place. Jenny is a trained kayak and rock climbing guide, an experienced hiking guide, plus also guides on New Zealand wine tours. If you can’t find Jenny, look for her in the mountains – hiking, climbing, mountaineering or skiing. She loves getting out on her bike too and enjoying all the adventures Queenstown has to offer. Jenny really goes the extra mile to make sure Canyon Calling guests have a terrific adventure vacation in New Zealand.
