Experience all that is Maine - from craggy coastal scenery and lonely lighthouses to quaint fishing villages. White water rafting on the Kennebec River will take your breath away. Saturday
Assemble at 1pm at Portland Airport (please arrange your own lunch). Drive up into Washington County where the road follows the beautiful Kennebec River to our lodge in the mountains. There is free time before dinner to laze by the river.
Sunday
An exciting day is spent white-water rafting 12 miles down the rapids of the Kennebec River. A BBQ lunch will be prepared beside the river. In the afternoon we drive inland to Greenville and a lodge by the lake.
Monday
Home-cooked breakfast then fly-fishing lessons on the lawn followed by casting on the river. See if youre lucky enough to land a bass. After lunch well drive to beautiful Bar Harbor and check into our motel for a two-night stay. Theres time for walking the coastal path prior to our lobster dinner.
Tuesday
After a hearty breakfast were off on a full-day sea-kayaking trip among the Porcupine islands enjoying wonderful scenery, marine life and coastal mansions. Picnic lunch on one of the islands. There is more time for relaxing before dinner. In the evening well take a drive up to Cadillac Mountain for the sunset.
Wednesday
A good sleep-in and breakfast at a café in town. Well spend the morning driving down to the beautiful harbor-side town of Camden. Lunch at a famous town landmark and the afternoon is yours free to shop and explore Camden. Well meet again for dinner.
Thursday
After breakfast in town well head for Mt. Battie State Park and hike through a beautiful broadleaf forest for two hours to an overlook of the islands well be sailing by this afternoon. Picnic lunch at the park in town then a short drive to Rockland to board our 1912 schooner for a wonderful afternoon sail. Dinner will be served on deck so you can enjoy a quiet night watching the sunset. Sleep on board the schooner at a peaceful island anchorage. This will be a memory to be treasured.
Friday
Return to port about 9am. Visit the lighthouse at Pemaquid Point. Lunch on route. A shopping stop at L.L Beans in Freeport then check into our motel near Portland Airport. Our farewell dinner will be in historic Old Port.
