Feature Trip

Fiji – New Zealand, Feb 6 – 24, 2007
New Zealand is one of the most beautiful and interesting places to visit as an adventure traveler.  It dishes up almost every geographical feature – volcanoes, glaciers, fjords, alps, geysers, mud pools, rain forests, green hills, plains and miles of stunning coastline.  We immerse ourselves in the splendor with hikes, rafting, sea kayaking, sailing, swimming and horse riding.  Best of all, we meet the wonderful Kiwis – including a rare overnight stay with the Maori people.  Linette Harris (Phoenix, AZ) on our Feb 06 NZ trip said “A trip I will talk about the rest of my life.  Not only is NZ absolutely stunning but having a Kiwi guide made the trip so much more.  Cheryl’s knowledge and love for her native land was palpable.  But NZ’s scenery is only half the story.  The other half is the people who live life in the moment and full of laughter.”

Notes from the Trail

“Best of the West – Wow, you’re not kidding. I loved every minute” Anna Ilko, OH.  This is a wonderful trip for those who have a little extra time (10 days) to explore all the magical places of the Southwest.  Anna captured over 1000 images including this snap of us hiking out of the Grand Canyon when high winds grounded our helicopter.  It’s amazing what you can do when you have to!  Sometimes on adventure trips you have to go to Plan B and often they end up being the most memorable moments on a trip – and this hike was no exception.

Heads Up for Sunday Oct 22, 9pm Eastern, Discovery Channel presents Australia Revealed in their acclaimed Atlas series.  Canyon Calling offers a two week trip to Australia each September which includes, Sydney, Queensland, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Outback.
